Grade 7 Weekly Blogpost
In your opinion, who are the five most influential people in the world?
Innovators impress me! Where would we stand today without instrumental people like Henry Ford? No, he did not invent the automobile, but what he accomplished was truly remarkable. Transportation is critical to the daily lives of people worldwide. His vision of producing automobiles for middle class citizens revolutionized the car industry. What once was a luxurious item is now considered an everyday item for most. Almost 100 years later, assembly lines produce large quantities of items including cars, and Ford's original vision has left a mark globally.
- Choose your five influential people (2 must be Canadian)
- Write a description for each person justifying why their on your list
- Post a picture of the person
Due: Monday, November 4

To improve his fitness, Mr. Congram climbed 16 flights of steps in a local building. Each flight has 11 steps. The height of each step is 18 cm. Calculate the number of centimetres he climbed to reach the top of the stairs.
- Did he climb more than 30 m? Explain how you know.
- Explain how you know that each calculation is reasonable.
GR. 6 & 7 WEEKLY BLOG POST
Weekly Blogpost
Learning Goal: To present 3 to 5 important personal
items, orally, visually and in written form.
Success Criteria:
- Represent at least 3-5 important items that you own
- It’s clear you put some thought into your item selection
- Post pictures with descriptions on why the objects are important to you
The
first important item that I own is my golf ball that I used for my hole in one. Although it was four years ago, I remember the day like it was yesterday. I approached the 8th tee
at Tangle Creek golf course with minimal confidence after struggling through
the first 7 holes. The hole was playing 177 yards with the wind at my
back. When I hit the ball on the clubface it soared through the air,
bounced on the green and rolled into the hole. It was a moment that I
will never forget! According to Golf digest the odds of an amateur
getting a hole in one is 1 in 12 750. Even today, I occasionally check the Tangle Creek website to view my name under the hole in one club, it's always a great feeling.
